Scout rolled her eyes at the girl she despised so much. “You know what, I can’t deal with this. Come up with your own damn alibi. I’m not going to stand here and take this. You know very well I was never a bully. If anyone ever was a high school bully, it was you and Liam, so you can give off your god damn high horse, Wilden. What happened was your fault, and you dragged me down because you hated me for stealing your best friend from you. Congratulations.”
She sighed, refraining from rolling her own eyes in the same fashion as she sat up a little more and ran her fingers through the ends of her hair. “I said not here.” Zoey cut in, sensing the agitated tone that was growing in Scout’s words. She wasn’t in the mood for playing ‘Mothers and Daughters’ today, which was how she perceived their relationship. Recently it had started consisting of Zoey getting into trouble and Scout somehow ending up at her room ready to chastise her. “Later when everyone’s sleeping like a log, I promise.” A moment passed, and she raised a box of cigarettes towards the brunette as a kind of peace offering. “Want one?”
